WE JUST WATCHED “PHILADELPHIA” ON AMC. THE FILM WAS SERIOUSLY DEGRADED BY THE COSTANT ADVERTISING FOR “MAD MEN”. IT IS RIDICULOUS, AND IN OUR VIEW STUPID, TO PRESENT A FINE FILM AND COSTANTLY INTERRUPT IT TO PROMOTE ANOTHER PROGRAM. IF WE HAD ANY INCLINATION TO WATCH “MAD MEN” , THIS BLATANT INTERRUPTION OF A FINE MOVIE HAS GUARANTEED THAT WE WON’T.

I agree with Carol…and I disagree about MAD MEN..mainly because I was a pre-teen and teen-ager in the 60’s and I remember it well..plus, I got into radio commercial writing in 1968 for the number one rock’n’roll station here on Miami Beach..later on I was a Production Director for many years in radio and dealt with ad agencies and people like those on MAD MEN (mostly over the phone, once in awhile in person)..so I liked that show-But I hate you for going COMMERCIAL-why did you?!? (but I do thank you for getting rid of those “people” you had introduce movies or whatever it was they did-which by the way, they knew nothing about the movies-any of them!)but if you show a movie I love-I bear with the commercials-However-my TELEVISION is just that- A TELEVISION-NOT A COMPUTER–so PLEASE-IF YOU HAVE TO INTERRUPT THE MOVIE WITH COMMERCIALS-SPARE ME THE D—-POP UPS AND STUPID OTHER THINGS YOU DO TO RUIN A MOVIE!And if there’s a Theme song at the end-let it play!hype elsewhere,ok?!
I have enjoyed MadMen so much. There is nothing like it on TV. where is it? Did the second season end? ladebora
I haven’t watched AMC for some time but I saw a movie I thought looked interesting. I quickly realized that the movie, Philadelphia, was interrupting the commercials. I timed the commercials vs the movie and I am disgusted. I don’t plan on watching another movie on that channel.
