Deteriorating Programming

To Whom It May Concern:

What’s up with AMC. When AMC first started out years ago, AMC ran their movies commercial free. Now, AMC runs about fifteen minutes of the movie and forty-five minutes of commercials, one after another. It also seems that AMC’s movie library is VERY limited, they keep running the same old dry as dust movies over and over again, sometimes three or four times a week. Also, AMC’s two new series, Breaking Bad and Mad Men, STINK. I can’t find any entertainment of any kind in those two series at all. I hope AMC isn’t thinking of producing anymore series like those two. No wonder, TCM has got AMC beaten hands down, with no commercials and different movies every day of the month. I have to say, AMC used to be my favorite movie channel, but that’s changed in the past few years. Maybe AMC should send out some kind of survey to it’s viewers to find out what other viewers think. I’m sure this one letter wouldn’t influence AMC at all, but a viewer survey would, one way or another. I very well could be wrong about AMC, but I doubt it. I’m kind of glad that I receive AMC as part of my cable package, because if I had to pay for AMC programming, AMC would starve to death. Thanks for allowing me to have my say. Have a great day!

I agree fully with the comments involving the lack of quality in the movie selections, and the inordinate number of blasting commercials, and the question of the volume during the movie and the commercials.
    Rubicon was unwatchable. Period.
Due to the fact that the sound track running behind the dialogue was turned up too much it was not possible to hear and understand the dialogue. If that wasn’t enough to drive you out of the room, I soon saw that your playing 8.5 minutes of video, followed by 5 minutes of commercials, worked to seal the deal and I can assure you, you’ve lost me and everybody I know who tried to watch it. What a disaster.

I agree with these sentiments totally.
Another reason I rarely watch is I do not consider the current movie line-up classics and they are repeated far to much.

I had planned on voicing my opinion on the apparent vanishing of decent enjoyable movies to watch on AMC as of lately but after reading the first blog titled Deteriorating Programming by an ex-viewer I don’t have much to add to that other than that I am in full agreement with it. I worked for network television for many years and I am fully aware of the unfortunate need for commercials to provide revenue to keep programming alive however in the case of AMC they have taken that necessary evil to far and have effectively ruined what used to be an enjoyable experience. I’m sure there are many people who feel the same and should voice their feelings here. I know this won’t change anything but I feel they should know that they have lost many viewers because of it.

What in the world has happened to AMC???
At first I was totally disappointed to tune in on Saturday mornings for early Westerns (which certainly brought back wonderful childhood memories) only to find the time slot had been replaced my numerous sales programs – a TERRIFFIC disappointment…

Now you can’t watch 15 minutes of ANY AMC Movie without having to see the yellow rain parkas from Breaking Bad showing up. I used to be amazed at how often the show and re-runs are plugged while trying to watch what I always thought was a dedicated movie channel, but bow I get so disgusted I just turn the whole thing off and switch to otehr movie channels that actually show interrupted movies – go figure.

I ha da dinner and the topic came around to movies we all love to see and every person present commented on thier total displeasure of AMC’s plugging of the ashow with the “yellow rain parka” crap! Better wake up AMC, you’re loosing us……………..
